What does the COVID 19 Pandemic mean for you and your pets?

COVID 19 has arrived in Oregon.  There is much still to be learned about the virus, but some of the things we do know are:  It is highly contagious through droplets that leave our body, mostly from coughing and talking. These droplets can survive on surfaces and hands for long periods of time. These droplets contain viruses but can be washed off with soap and water and disinfectants.  This virus is not contagious to your pets, and you will not catch this virus from your pets.

Many Veterinary clinics are closing, some veterinary clinics are trying to remain open and are providing curbside service. Countryside Veterinary Service will continue to be open as long as the governor allows it. We are sanitizing our hospitals continuously, we are conserving our Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) through re-sterilization.  We are only allowing employees in our building.  Your safety and our team members’ safety is of utmost importance to us, and we will continue to implement social distancing as we care for your pet.

Our large animal truck can come to your property for outcalls, but we will not be able to come into your home. It is important to maintain a 6 foot distance from our team when they come to your property.

We appreciate your patience and hope that these practices will not continue into the summer. It will get easier though as we adjust to the new way of doing things.  We hope to be able to continue providing care for your pets throughout the pandemic period.
